KALIPI Holds BOSLD at BulSU


The Kabataang liberal ng Pilipinas National Headquarters held a Basic Orientation Seminar on Liberal Democracy (BOSLD) last 25 September 2008 at Bulacan State University (BulSU) for the school chapter.

The seminar aims to introduce KALIPI, its ideas and concept to more students and strengthen the BulSU chapter. Among the speakers were Mr. Emil Samaniego, former KALIPI and YLDA Intern, Ms. Jezaline Clemente, and Prof. Jan Argy Y. Tolentino, KALIPI Secretary General.

Mr. Samaniego discussed the situation of the youth and their role in nation building. Ms. Clemente gave a talk on KALIPI's organization background, youth advocacies and program. On Liberal values, broad movement of liberals in the Philippines, regional and international liberal organizations were highlighted by Prof. Tolentino, who also serves as YLDA Secretary General and Vice President of IFLRY.

"The youth and students of Bulacan needs to be involved and committed on doing bold actions and steps to take-part on nation building", KALIPI-BulSU President Daniel Avendano said. "We want to promote a more responsible and action oriented Bulacan youth", he added.

The BOSLD is regularly conducted by KALIPI on schools and community youth who want be involved on the organization's advocacies. It is one of the KALIPI's commitments – to harness the vast potential of the youth for the end view of making them active participants in charting the nation's destiny.
