After accomplishing several projects last December of 2008, another project was initiated by the Kabataang Liberal ng Pilipinas – Bulacan State University Chapter (KALIPI–BulSU Chapter). Last January 4, 2009, KALIPI-BulSU, led by Romel BJ Avendaño, spearheaded the Post-Christmas Gift-giving Project wherein some 50 less fortunate kids in the City of Malolos were given gifts.
The organization started giving gifts around 3:00 in the afternoon at the Malolos Cathedral and Capitol Compound. Gifts containing notebooks, pens, and toys were given to the street children and to the children of some vendors in the area. The organization ended giving gifts around 7:00 in the evening.
Aside from different projects wherein young leaders were trained to become more effective on their leadership roles, the KALIPI–BulSU chapter strongly believes that it is important to give especially to the less fortunate. “It was a moving experience for us, youth leaders, to help those in need in simple ways,” said Nikko Valerie Concepcion, KALIPI-BulSU VP-Internal.
A great experience in giving gifts to spread the Spirit of Christmas made the organization work hard to serve other people and continue to hold its promise not just to train Liberal Young leaders but to serve other people as well.
